“An addictive obsession “
The tradition of smoke-firing pottery fascinates me in that each piece is unique. The point at which I have to surrender the piece to the fire pit is both a nerve-wracking and exhilarating experience, which culminates in an addictive obsession with the art of vessel making.
I try to take everyday images, whether it is people, plants, or buildings and simplify them to the point at which it reads as a clay pot, relevant in the modern world.
