“Ultimately, my art is driven by narrative”
Biography
I was born in Swaziland, of Irish- Dutch parentage, and by dint of my living in South Africa, England and Ireland for many years, l have a wealth of cultures and experiences to draw on. Currently l live in Calitzdorp, but studied for a Masters Degree in Ceramic Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales. In Cork, Ireland, l did a BA in Fine Art, then switched to Ceramics for my BA Honours at the Crawford College of Art and Design. My art is currently exhibited at Knysna Fine Arts and SoFine Art in Dublin, Ireland.

“Clay, line and colour- it is the dance between the three that l am after. Imagery and forms are drawn from a variety of sources, traditional and contemporary, as well as my own sketches. Ultimately, my art is driven by narrative, a story is translated from drawing into clay and pigment, and through firing, is fundamentally transformed.”
